| SWARM and Glendale Rugby in State preview |
|
|
In the first half both teams appeared evenly matched and each penetrated deep, but Glendale was able to hold off the SWARM while scoring a converted try along with two penalty kicks. The Raptors led 13-0 after the first thirty minutes of play. The Raptors came alive in the second half, taking advantage of the SWARM’s failure to support the ruck. Glendale capitalized on multiple turnovers and scored four second-half trys (one converted) to finish off the SWARM by a score of 35-0. The match was considered a friendly (non divisional) and did not affect the standings in the West or the North, but it served as a good tune up for a run at the Colorado State Championships beginning on May 2. Glendale’s next opponent is East Division leader Denver East at Dick's Sporting Goods Park on Saturday. The SWARM has a busy schedule to windup the regular season. They face WARRIOR Rugby Football Club on Saturday, Aurora on Monday, and finally Littleton on Tuesday. |
