Match Overview

The Glendale Raptors DII side looked strong in a tough win against Colorado Springs at Infinity Park last Saturday. It was a hard fought, physical game at Infinity Park with both teams sticking to their game plans and trying to control proceedings. Colorado Springs jumped to an early lead but Glendale quickly replied with a try to Dewon Reed. The successful conversion made the score 7 – 5 in the 13th minute. The game went back and forth for most of the first half, however neither team was able to build much moment as questionable refereeing made progressing the ball difficult for both teams. Glendale did manage to score a try right on half time to take a 17 – 12 lead into the half time break. In the second half Glendale took control with some great attacking play and solid defense. 4 unanswered tries proved too much for Colorado Springs to come back from and although they scored a late consolation try Glendale had taken the win. The final score or 43 – 19 included 3 tries by Mike Pettes and 2 from Dewon Reed, but a solid team performance was what was most impressive from the Raptors. Glendale looks to close out its Fall League matches this weekend in Fort Collins.
