Match MVP: Coming Soon Match OverviewThe Glendale Raptors DII side was lucky to hold on for the win against a tough Harlequins side at Infinity Park last Saturday. In an error ridden game, the Raptors opened scoring early with a penalty kick by Spencer Wells in the opening 2 minutes to make it 3 - 0. The Harlequins came back to score the next two tries making it 3 – 10 in the 22nd minute. The Raptors quickly responded scoring in the 28th minute and then again in the 34th to take a 15 – 10 lead into the halftime break. The second half was a similar story to the first. The Glendale forwards provided a firm base with consistent lineout wins and solid scrums but poor handling in the backline and turnovers at the breakdown stopped any attacking chances Glendale had. Glendale managed to score a try in the 53rd minute to take a 20 – 13 lead and although they gave away a late try to the Harlequins, they were able hold for the win. The Glendale DII side finishes its fall campaign with 2 league games; against Colorado Spring on Saturday 24th of October and Fort Collins on Saturday the 31st of October. |
