Match Overview

The CSU Rams accumulated the first seven points as the butted heads with the Glendale Raptors in the final game of the fall season here as snow began to fall at Infinity Park.

The Rams, however, experience a quick melt down as the Glendale Raptors –wolfs in sheep’s clothing – piled up 17 unanswered points to take a 17 to 7 lead at halftime. A cold and damp field (pitch) made play slippery for the white flock on both sides.

Steady flakes midway in the second half never filled three bags full by game’s end. The Raptors, however, stayed hot by adding to the score as easily as counting sheep. The Raptor had grazed to a 32-point lead before the Rams slipped another seven points onto the scoreboard. The Raptor then lowered their heads and plowed ahead to a final score of 44 to 14.

While admitting the weather conditions were a little crazy, Raptor players said the snow and cold were not major factors in the game. Nevertheless the Rams, symbols of virility and power, were the first team to hold the Raptors under 50 points in the last three games. On Halloween the Raptors scored 64 points in beating the Kansas City Blues. The Raptors piled up 86 points versus the Albuquerque Aardvarks on Oct. 24.
