FINAL

GLENDALE, CO., Oct. 3 – Like their namesake the Albuquerque Aardvarks rugby team came into Glendale’s Infinity Park, arched their back and burrowed in and held the Glendale Raptors to a 17-17 tie at halftime

The Raptors burst out with a 33-point flurry in the second half before allowing the Aardvarks two quick scores at the end of the game. The final score was Raptors 50, the Aardvarks 31.

Ryan Chapman, Lock, Prop, was named Player of the Game. The men travel to Kansas City next week to play the Kansas City Blues.
The Lady Raptors played mostly reserves against Albuquerque’s Atomic Sisters here as they rested many of the girls with an eye on the away game next week against the second ranked New York RFC (Rugby Football Club). After leading 24 to10 midway through the second half, the Atomic Sisters scored twice in the closing minutes of the game. The final score was Raptors 24, Atomic Sisters 17.

Lindsay Forham, the 5’ 7”, 145 lb. Flanker, Scrumhalf was the Lady Raptors Player of the Game.
Glendale is the first city in the country to adopt rugby as its official sport and the $40 million Infinity Park rugby pitch is the nation’s first Rugby specific stadium.
